Writers & Readers alike: Your opinion on Quality of a story. (+BQ)?

The quality of a novel, a film, or music, whatever, is based on how well it stirs feelings within you. The feeling can be anything, but as long as the audience is subject to the feeling you are attempting to portray, then the quality is great. In order to put the feelings into the audience, you have to be able to show them something they can relate to otherwise it is far more difficult for them to have any feeling towards something they know nothing about.
